Yes, the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit is designed to replicate the exams performed during an in-office exam. The TytoCare Medical Exam Kit offers your provider high-quality digital sounds of the heart and lungs, high-quality digital images and video of the ears, throat and skin, and body temperature.

Is the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit FDA cleared?

The TytoCare Stethoscope is FDA-cleared, and all other devices comply with FDA requirements.

When should I use the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit?

The TytoCare Medical Exam Kit provides physical exams that capture heart, lung, ear, throat, and temperature exams. Make sure to set up your TytoCare Medical Exam Kit as soon as you receive it so that it is ready to use when you need it. You may need to use your TytoCare Medical Exam Kit when you or a family member is feeling sick.

What kind of smartphone or tablet do I need to use the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit?

The TytoCare app works with iOS (latest two versions) and Android (4.4.4 and above). Here are the specific requirements:

Apple device users: iOS 10 or newer; iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 6, plus newer models

Android device users: Android 4.4.4 or newer; Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 plus, Note 5, A7, J7 and up, LG G4 and up

Do I need Wi-Fi to use my TytoCare Medical Exam Kit?

Access to a strong and reliable Wi-Fi network is needed to conduct a virtual visit with TytoCare.

Do I need to have a MyChart account to use the TytoCare device?

Yes. Just select “MyChart” in the Corewell Health App to use your TytoCare Medical Exam Kit.

Do I need any training to use the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit?

TytoCare has built-in training videos and guidance technology to help ensure accuracy and ease-of-use. We recommend new TytoCare users complete a free Welcome Visit with a TytoCare representative to get comfortable using the device.

When using TytoCare during a live video exam, your provider will guide you through the examination process, letting you know where to put the stethoscope on the heart, where to place the otoscope inside the ear, etc.

How long does it take to set up?

Setting up your device will take up to 10 minutes. Set up includes unboxing the device and attachments, pairing it to your Wi-Fi and MyChart account, and learning how to use it with a free Welcome Visit.

Can other members of the family use the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit for care?

Yes! Any family member can use the TytoCare device to see a Corewell Health provider. If you have family members within your home who are not covered under your medical plan, please check their plan’s coverage for virtual health visits to determine the visit co-pay. You will need to add your family members to your MyChart account before you can start a Tyto visit for them. For questions related to proxy access, please call 877-308-5083.

What happens if it’s the middle of the night or a weekend and someone in my family is sick?

The Corewell Health Virtual Urgent Care is available 24/7. You can use your TytoCare Medical Exam Kit during your virtual urgent care visit.

Can all visits be done with the TytoCare Medical Exam Kit?

Many acute care visits can be done using your kit, however, sometimes a visit may require an in-person examination to confirm a diagnosis.

Can I use TytoCare away from home?

Yes. Tyto is lightweight, compact, and portable. It is designed for remote use for patients physically located in Michigan at the time of the exam. All you need is the Corewell Health app, a smartphone or tablet, and a Wi-Fi connection.
