Stethoscope Issues

There is no sound when using the stethoscope / Clincian cannot hear any sounds

  1. Try to switch to a different, quieter room. Check the noise bar when the stethoscope is connected, and see if the behavior matches the desired volume levels.
  1. If sound is still faulty/ no sound, ask the customer to try to clean the stethoscope’s metal connectors with a dry/moist wipe (not a wet one), insert the stethoscope and try again.
  2. Check if the sound gauge responds to tapping lightly on the stethoscope
  3. If sound is no sound or feedback from the sound gauge, ask the customer to factory reset their device. 3 dots > Settings > Advanced Settings > Reset Device. after pairing the device again, start an Heart/ Lung exam and attach the stethoscope.
  4. If the sound from the stethoscope is still muffled / faulty, support should log in to the Clinician Station, invite the user for a demo visit, select the Lungs/Heart exam and see if the issue persists.
  5. If there is muffled/ no sound – contact TytoCare support.

Stethoscope Not Recognized

If the Heart/ Lung exam does not start after connecting the attachment and the screen is stuck on “Insert Stethoscope”:

  1. Ask the customer to clean the stethoscope’s metal connectors with a dry/moist wipe (not a wet one), insert the stethoscope, and try again.
  2. If not recognized – Ask the customer to factory reset their device. 3 dots > Settings > Advanced Settings > Reset Device. after pairing the device again, start an exam and attach the Stethoscope.
  3. If that does not resolve the issue:
    • Verify with the customer if one of the attachments is not being recognized by the base unit OR is it both the stethoscope and otoscope are not being recognized as attached by the base unit. Ask the customer to start an ear exam and attach the otoscope and/or start a heart, heart rate or lung exam and attach the stethoscope. This is important to determine if there is an issue with the attachment or the device
