TytoCare selected for its innovative Home Smart Clinic solution
[NEW YORK, NY, October 18, 2023] – TytoCare, a virtual care company enabling leading health plans and providers to deliver accessible, high-quality primary care and physical exams anywhere across the country, announced today that it was crowned the winner of the 2023 Digital Health Hub Foundation (DHHF) and Digital Health Awards in the “Best in Class Next-Gen Telemedicine” category at HLTH 2023.
“To earn this recognition in the current time as an Israeli startup is very special for us, and comes at a very meaningful time,” said Dedi Gilad, Co-Founder and CEO of TytoCare.
The award recognizes TytoCare for its ongoing work developing the Home Smart Clinic solution, a next-generation handheld medical exam device and AI-powered support software that replicates a visit with the doctor at home. This FDA-cleared device allows patients to perform a full suite of medical exams including ear, chest, and throat exams, all while securely connected with a remote physician. The devices are powered by Tyto Insights, software that guides patients through the exams and assists physicians with diagnosis. TytoCare has also developed the Pro Smart Clinic, for professional settings, including rural clinics, schools, and workplaces.
Joining TytoCare as finalists in the Best in Class Next-Gen Telemedicine category were Vori Health, Oshi Health, and Parsley Health. The winners were selected by an expert team of more than 800 judges in the health care and VC industries.
The DHHF Digital Health Awards, formerly UCSF, recognizes the achievements of innovative health tech companies that are dramatically improving health care through the use of technology in the digital health industry. The winners were selected from hundreds of nominees by a panel of judges including health care investors, executives, innovators, and academics.
This award comes at a time of significant momentum for TytoCare, following a recent funding round that will advance the Home Smart Clinic’s longitudinal care capabilities to help families manage conditions that need more than acute care visits and to further develop novel uses of AI in diagnostic support and remote exam assistance.
This data comes as further evidence of the capabilities of TytoCare’s ability to improve access and impact the total cost of care. One study recently in the Journal of Health Economics’ July 2023 edition, carried out by economists from Stanford and Tel Aviv Universities, analyzed data from one of the world’s biggest HMOs, and found that TytoCare’s Home Smart Clinic reduced cost of care by 7 percent. The study also found that the Home Smart Clinic reduced ED visits by 24.1 percent, urgent care visits by 11.3 percent, and increased primary care utilization by 12 percent.
