The TytoCare app works with iOS (latest two versions) and Android (4.4.4 and above). Here are the specific requirements: 

1. Apple device users must have iOS 10 or newer. You must have one of these or a newer model: iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 6. 
2. Android device users must have Android 4.4.4 or newer. You must have one of these or a newer model: Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 plus, Note 5, A7, J7, LG G4. 

TytoHome Stethoscope is FDA–cleared and all other devices comply with FDA requirements. 

Set up your device and complete onboarding with Emma within 3 days.  

1. Download the TytoCare app on your tablet or smartphone.
   Note: Do not create an account in the TytoCare app. 
2. Download the MyNM® app on your tablet or smartphone.
   If you do not have a MyNM account, visit mynm.nm.org before moving to the next step.
3. Click ‘My Tools’ then select “TytoCare-ICCs and Pediatrics”. Follow the instructions to start the activation process.
4. Click ‘Experience Tyto’ to finish the activation process with your personal TytoCare virtual assistant, Emma! You’ll learn how to use your TytoHome device so you’re ready when you need a remote exam with a Northwestern Medicine clinician.

• Make sure you have an internet connection before logging in to TytoApp. 

• Always connect to Wi-Fi and stay where you will get a strong Wi-Fi signal.   

• You must have a Wi-Fi password. This helps keep your information safe.  

• You will not be able to use TytoCare with a proxy server.  

• If you have a poor video or sound quality, make sure your internet connection meets these requirements: 

• • Wireless communication standard: IEEE 802.11 N (recommended) / G 

• • Frequency band: G1: 2.4 GHz only | G2: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz

What exams can I do with the TytoHome device and when can I receive care? 

You can do exams that involve these capabilities: 

• A camera for taking photos and videos of your skin and throat 

• A thermometer for taking your temperature 

• An otoscope for looking inside the ears 

• A stethoscope for heart and lung sounds and for capturing heart rate. 

TytoHome visits are available 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 7:30 pm. 

Yes, it is designed to replicate the exams performed during an in-office exam. 

It gives your clinician: 

• High-quality sounds of your heart and lungs 

• High-quality images and video of your ears, throat and skin 

• Your body temperature 

If you require emergency medical attention, please call 911 to access your local emergency services. 

TytoHome provides physical exams that capture heart, lung, ear, throat, and temperature exams. Make sure to set up your TytoHome device as soon as you receive it so that it is ready to use when you need it. You may need to use your TytoHome when you or a covered family member is feeling sick. 

TytoHome sends your information over an encrypted, secure network. We store your information on a cloud platform that complies with federal privacy laws. These laws include the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).  

You and your clinician determine who can access your medical records. 

Yes. TytoHome is for people aged 2 and older.
